If Life Is a Race ...

Then I must be trying to drive a 1960 Ford Fairlane in the fast lane. No wonder I'm getting run over!

Not having any success with Sears and trying to find the part for my sickly ice maker. I have the model number, serial number, and know which part I need. But their parts Web site just sits there ... won't cooperate. I've tried two different phone numbers, only to be left on hold for long periods of time. I don't do "hold." At least not for more than a couple of minutes. Oh, and one time I did get to speak to a real human being ... Manny ... but I couldn't understand a word he said. Foreign. Definitely not from the South.

Then I went into Kelly's room ... she left last Friday ... and boy did I find a huge mess. I am NOT happy with my lastborn child. Not only did she leave her bed unmade (which I really wish she'd stripped because I have more company coming this weekend), but there was a HUGE pile of dirty towels on the floor! She could have / should have put them in the laundry room. AND there was trash (price tags) on the floor. Obviously she thought there was a maid of some sort coming in to clean after her royal highness. Yeh, me. I'm the maid at this Motel 6. And she didn't leave a tip. I've got a tip for her all right!

Finally, at work today we had a team meeting. Next year's pipeline (work distribution) is a joke. No, it's not a joke ... jokes are funny. This is a set-up for failure. The mgr started by saying something like, "The EICs have talked to you about the products they want you to work on." At that point he made eye contact with me and he took one look at my raised eyebrows and corrected himself with, "The EICS SHOULD have talked to you ..." Well, all of them didn't. That's why so many of my products overlap. It's not really that it's too many ... it's that release dates either overlap or are one after another.

I thought this would be an easy week at home. Nope. Jay's coming tomorrow after school and spending the night. There goes my freelance time. Oh, well, there will be time for that later. My Jaybug time is more important for both of us. Then there's church Wednesday night and Ed has a class/test Thursday night. Company coming either Thursday or Friday ... that keeps changing. Wedding Saturday. Sometime in there I have to do some housework.

Like I said, I'm driving a 1960 Ford Fairlane when I need a newer, sportier model. Something in a convertible?
