Blessings

My Jay came over today! Chris came to help his daddy finish up the deck. All done now ... and on to the roof! I look a little rough here (bed head and no make-up) but definitely happy!

We were on the go ALL DAY! After biscuits, ham, and eggs for breakfast, I threw a load of clothes into the washer and took off to grocery shop: Wal-Mart, H'ville Fresh Produce Store, and Kroger. By the time I got home, my boys were here. Chris and Ed were nearly finished the the top rails and then quickly knocked out the handrail for the steps. Jay was in his element ... at Mawmaw's house with the computer, Cherry Coke Zero, and able to play with the boys next door. 

Even with Jay here and the construction outside, I managed to finish 4 loads of laundry, vacuum the kitchen, bathroom, dining room, and living room. And I got the hardwoods mopped. Somewhere in there we ate a bowl of potato cheese soup and some sandwiches. The boys had to leave ... Chris had to go to work. I made ANOTHER Wal-Mart run for 2 rocking chairs to put on the deck. Ed mowed the front yard.

We were pooped. Showered and stretch out to watch an old, old movie: "Mildred Pierce." I think Ed slept through most of it. It was an OK movie ... predictable. Not sure why Joan Crawford won an Oscar for it. 

Then we went outside to sit in our new rockers and enjoy our new deck ... and to watch the storm rolling in. Lots of thunder and lightning in the distance, so we came in to eat a sandwich. I'd hoped for a dinner invite from Ed ... tomorrow is my birthday ... but it apparently didn't cross his mind.
